Kathmandu, Nepal: The so-called special general meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is going to be held today amid a heightening controversy among the members.
With the Patan High Court on Thursday refused to issue an interim order on the writ filed by former senior vice president of the organization Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar and his aide Govinda Prasad Ghimire, the way was paved to organize the special general meeting.
The decision to hold the special general meeting has heightened the integral differences in the umbrella organization of the Nepalese business community.
Former senior vice president Rajkarnikar and Ghimire had filed a writ at the Court claiming that the special general meeting called by the FNCCI executive committee has breached the provision of the FNCCI statute.
However, the court had denied issuing stay order after hearing the arguments presented by the plaintiffs and defendant on Wednesday.
It is said that at least half dozen former presidents FNCCI are not going to be attend in the special general meeting today.
