Kathmandu, Nepal, April 21, 2022: The Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA), the second international airport of Nepal has formally come into operation from Thursday.
The GBIA that is built in Rupandehi district of the Lumbini Province has formally come into operation from today, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Pradip Adhikari said.
Though the runway has come into operation from today, the international flights would however be started from May 16, on the day of Buddha Jayanti or the birth anniversary of the Buddha, Adhikari said.
