Guwahati : After suspending an All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) legislator for three days from Assam assembly after broadcasting his speech on Facebook live by using his mobile phones, the speaker of Assam assembly on Monday barred the Assam Additional Advocate General from the assembly for two weeks for allegedly taking selfie from the speaker's gallery.
Assam assembly speaker Hitendranath Goswami on Monday barred Assam Additional Advocate General Debojit Saikia from the assembly for two weeks.
Debojit Saikia had allegedly clicked a selfie with the Assam Chief Minister’s Press Adviser Hrishikesh Goswami on February 7 from the speaker's gallery, while Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presenting the state budget for the financial year 2017-18.
'I have received complaint from AIUDF MLA Hafiz Basir Ahmed regarding the matter and forwarded the complaint to the privilege committee,'Â Hitendranath Goswami said.
The Assam assembly speaker asked the committee to submit its inquiry report within two weeks and till the probe is over, the speaker advised Saikia not to come to the assembly.
Earlier, the Assam assembly speaker had suspended AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam from the assembly after the legislator broadcasted his speech on Facebook live by using his mobile phone.
On the other hand, the Assam assembly speaker ordered to ban of using mobile phones inside the assembly.
