Assam : Three poachers killed in road mishap, rhino horn, one rifle recovered

Guwahati, March 14 : At least three poachers were killed in a road mishap at Baihata Chariali, outskirts of Guwahati after the car they were traveling collided head on with a bus on Tuesday morning, police said. 
 
 
Security personnel had recovered a rhino horn along with a rifle from the car used by the poacher gang. 
 
 
Police said that, two persons suspected to be members of a rhino poaching racket were killed on spot and two others seriously injured. 
 
 
One of the injured persons succumbed his injuries at hospital. 
 
 
Police had recovered a blood stained rhino horn, which was suspected to be chopped on Monday night from the car. 
 
 
Security personnel also recovered a rifle, several rounds ammunition, sharp weapons, brown sugar packets from the vehicle. 
 
 
Meanwhile, Assam police and forest department officials have started investigation following seizure of the rhino horn.
