Kathmandu, Nepal, November 30, 2021: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha has said that the government will blacklist the foreign companies if they fail to provide salaries and perks to the Nepali migrant workers as per the agreement.

Speaking at an interaction with the returnee migrant workers on Monday, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Shrestha said the government will not be issuing permits to Nepali workers to work in the foreign employers once the companies blacklisted.

A group of returnee migrant workers had made a complaint with government after many foreign employers dismissed Nepali workers from their jobs after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the returnee migrant workers, a large number of migrant workers have been languishing in many countries and suffering from various diseases after a number of foreign employers refused to clear their outstanding dues citing COVID-19 pandemic.

During the interaction, Minister Shrestha expressed his commitment to work for the welfare of the Nepalese migrant workers. However, he did not mentioned about the plan to compel the foreign employers who have refused to clear their outstanding dues citing COVID-19 pandemic.
