Coronavirus infection tally advanced to 336,030 after 7137 new cases reported in the past 24 hours

Kathmandu, Nepal, May 2, 2021:  Nepal has on Sunday reported single day record high of coronavirus infection. Breaking the previous single day record high of yesterday, 7137 new cases were reported on Sunday from across the country on Sunday. 

With the addition of coronavirus infection cases, total tally has advanced to 336,030.  Of them, 2,864 are females while 4,273 are males, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said.
Likewise, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 3,325 after 27 fatalities related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours on Sunday.

According to the MoHP, 7137 new cases were recorded while conducting 16,770 tests in different labs through the country. Of the total tests, 16,147 were conducted through PCR methods while 623 were conducted through antigen tests. 

Of the total newly infected cases, Kathmandu district alone holds 2,744 cases while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts hold 550 and 301 cases respectively.

Likewise, 1,612 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after getting recovery. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 283,994.

There are currently 48,711 active cases across the country. Of them 67 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
