Kathmandu, Nepal, January 24, 2022: Nepal’s coronavirus infection tally has advanced to 918,448 after 8,054 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours on Monday. With the addition, active cases of coronavirus infection tally of Nepal advanced to 82,550.
Meanwhile, 2540 people, who had infected earlier with the virus, have been discharged after getting recovered in the past 24 hours. With the addition, recovery tally of the country has advanced to 824,239.
Likewise, four more deaths related to the coronavirus infections have been recorded in the last past 24 hours. With the addition, nationwide mortality tally has advanced to 11,659.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), total of 21,201 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Of the total tests, 16,654 were PCR tests while 4,547 were antigen tests, the MoFA has said. 5,138,316 PCR tests have been carried out so far.
Of the total newly recorded infection cases, 4,833 were recorded in Kathmandu valley alone. Of these, 3,634 were in Kathmandu, 587 were in Lalitpur and 455 were in Bhaktapur district, the MoFA has stated.
The Ministry has also stated that 627 new infection cases were recorded in Province 1, 242 in Madhes Pradesh, 5,879 in Bagmati province, 746 in Gandaki province, 383 in Lumbini province, 14 in Karnali province and 144 in Sudurpaschim province.
