Guwahati : A low intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off in Manipur Imphal West district on Saturday while the nation celebrated the 70th Republic Day.
According to the reports, the IED was exploded near by a wall of the camp of Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) located at Lamphel area in Imphal West district at around 1 pm.
There is no report of any casualty in the blast.
A top police official said that, suspected militants had planted the IED targeting to security personnel.
Meanwhile, Manipur police and other security agencies have started investigation.
