Kathmandu, Nepal, September 27, 2022: The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued a diffusion notice against suspended Nepali cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane.

As he has been at large since a rape case was filed against him by a minor girl on September 6, Interpol had issued the notice responding to the request of the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Nepal Police.

As Lamichhane's passport allows him to travel to almost all countries in the world without prior visa, the NCB has listed the countries like Kenya, Singapore, and the USA mentioning as possible hideouts of Lamichhane.

With the issuance of the diffusion notice, police of various member countries associated to the Interpol can arrest and deport him to Nepal for investigation into the case.

The NCB had issued warrant notice against Lamichhane after a 17-year-old girl, along with her elder brother, filed a complaint against him at Gaushala Police Circle on September 6.

In the complaint, Lamichhane has been of raping her at a hotel room in Sinamangal on the night of August 21.
