Kathmandu, Nepal: With the aim to introduce and promote Japanese people, culture, society and the way of life to the people of Nepal, the Embassy of Japan, in cooperation with the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association Nepal (JALTAN), is organizing Japanese Film Festivals in Pokhara and Kathmandu on February 3rd-4th and 10th-11th, 2017, respectively.
 
According to the Japanese embassy in Kathmandu, the films will be screened with English subtitles and the screening schedule of the film festivals are as follows
 
Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Gaira Patan, Pokhara on 
3rd February (Friday) at 03:00 p.m.  Swing Girls (105min.) and 4th February (Saturday) at 11:00 a.m.  Éclair (105min.), 01:00 p.m.  The Garden of Words (46min.)and  02:00 p.m.  Ballad (132min.)
 
Tribhuvan Army Officers’ Club, Tundikhel, Kathmandu on 10th February (Friday) at 01:00 p.m.  Shodo Girls (120min.) and 03:15 p.m.  The Chef of South Polar (125min.), on 11th February (Saturday) at11:00 a.m.  ALWAYS -Sunset on Third Street- 3 (142min.), 01:40 p.m.  Water Boys (91min.) and 03:25 p.m.  Happy Flight (103min.)
 
Entry to the movie shows at Pokhara is open to all for free on first-come-first- served basis whereas the entry passes to the movie shows in Kathmandu are mandatory which are available for free at the Embassy of Japan, Panipokhari and the JALTAN Office in the International Languages Campus, Exhibition Road on a first-come-first-served basis. 
 
It is hoped that the film festival will contribute to the understanding of Japanese culture to the Nepalese people, and in turn lead to the continued development of our friendly and cooperative relations.
