Kathmandu, Nepal September 8, 2025: At least 15 people died and around one hundred died after the protect launched by the Young generation (Gen Z) turned violent in Kathmandu on Monday.
Gen Z staged protests in different parts of the country including in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, against corruption, mismanagement, and the government’s decision to band social media platforms.
As the young generation gathered first at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu and headed to the New Baneshwor, police opened fire. The demonstration has been gradually taking momentum in different parts of the countryThe protesters had been staging protect carrying placards with slogans such as 'discontent is extreme, the leader's pocket is hot'.
Nepal government had decided to ban different 26 social media platforms including the facebook from Thursday night amid the outrage from different sectors
