Kathmandu, Nepal, March 10, 2021: The CPN (Maoist Center) has expedited its effort to woo the opposition political parties to form a coalition government after Supreme Court annulled the unification with the CPN UML as Nepal Communist Party.

The CPN (Maoist Center) held on Wednesday talks with Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal (JSPN) and proposed to form a coalition government among the three parties including the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC).

CPN (Maoist Center) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal invited JSPN leaders at party’s headquarter, Perisdanda and to urge them to stand together to form a coalition government, claims a source at Perisdanda.

According to the source, the JSPN leaders had forwarded a condition of constitution amendment to form a coalition government stating that they would ready to form a coalition government with the CPN (Maoist Center) only if it agrees to amend the constitution to incorporate its demands.

The meeting held between the three leaders- CPN (Maoist Center) chairman Dahal, and JSPN leaders duo Mahanta Thakur and Rajendra Mahato did not reach on the conclusion regarding the formation of coalition government but agreed to sit again, claims the source.

Earlier on Tuesday the CPN (Maoist Center) chairman Dahal had called on NC president with the same proposal to form a coalition government.

However, the NC seems skepticism with the CPN (Maoist Center) to form a coalition government as latter one has not even withdrawn the support to the incumbent government.
