Kathmandu, Nepal, December 6, 2022: Minister for Youth and Sports of Gandaki Province Deepak Manange aka Rajeev Gurung has joined Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN Unified Socialist amid a function on Monday.
Manange was elected unopposed from Manang B as a provincial assembly member. He was elected unopposed as no parties had fielded their candidacy
With his decision to join the Unified Socialist party, Manange has been the only candidate of the party elected under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) electoral system in Gandaki Provincial Assembly.
I decided to join the CPN (Unified Socialist) after I found that ideology of the party matches to me, Manange has stated in a press release issued to announce his decision to join in the party.
In the statement, he has also announced to support the ruling alliance in the Gandaki provincial assembly for the formation of a new government. It is likely that Manange will be appointed as a minister representing the United Socialist.
