Dina, Pariyar and Angdambe elected as joint general secretary of the Nepali Congress

Kathmandu, Nepal, December 17, 2021: Three joint general secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC) under the woman, dalit and indigenous cluster have been elected on Thursday night.  Mahalaxmi Upadhyay ‘Dina’, Jivan Pariyar and Bhishmaraj Angdambe have been elected as joint general secretaries under the woman, dalit and indigenous cluster respectively.

Upadhyay, who was the running mate of president Sher Bahadur Deuba, secured 2,533 votes while her nearest rival candidate Kamala Panta, who was the running mate of prudential candidate Shekhar Koirala, secured just 2,105 votes. 

Similarly, Pariyar, who was the running mate of Koirala elected in the post securing 2,212 votes while his nearest rival Man Bahadur Bishwakarma, who was the running mate of president Deuba secured just 2,175 votes. 

Likewise, Angdambe, who was the running mate of president Deuba, has been elected by securing 2,711 votes while his rival candidate Bikash Lama, who was the running mate of prudential candidate Koirala secured just 1,913 votes. 

The vote vaunting of other five joint general secretaries underway upon category is underway in the party’s central office, Sanepa on Friday.
