Lamjung, Nepal: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Local Development and Federal Affairs Kamal Thapa has said that the scheduled local level elections will be held in a single phase within the scheduled time.
Thapa, who is also the chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) made the claim in the mean time when the major allies of the incumbent government- Nepali Congress and the CPN Maoist Center have forwarded two phase option to hold the local level election by taking into confidence the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).
As the incumbent government was making preparations to hold the local level elections in a single phase on the stipulated date, there is no need to be confused that the scheduled elections will be held on time in a single phase, Thapa said.
