‘Gangster’ Chakre Milan gets clean chit in money laundering case

Kathmandu, Nepal: Alleged ‘gangster’ Milan Gurung, who is popularly known as Chakre Milan, has got clean chit in the case of money laundering on Wednesday.

The Special Court, the bench comprising the judges Ratna Bahadur Bagchand, Chandi Raj Dhakal and Pramod Kumar Shrestha, acquitted Gurung and his wife Indira citing that no strong evidence found as claimed by the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DoMLI). 

The DoMLI had on May 20, 2013 filed a case against Gurung along with his wife accusing both of them of amassing property worth Rs 70.8 million through illegal means.
