Kathmandu, Nepal, January 29,2026: As Nepal prepares for the upcoming parliamentary elections on March 5, India handed over a second batch of election-related assistance on Thursday to help ensure smooth voting across the country. This move follows recent Gen-Z protests, highlighting the critical importance of a well-organized electoral process.

Over 250 vehicles were formally handed over to the Government of Nepal during a ceremony at the Ministry of Finance in Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal and Dr. Rakesh Pande, Charge d’affaires a.i. of the Indian Embassy, were in attendance.

“These supplies are part of the assistance requested by Nepal to support election preparations,” the Indian Embassy stated.

During the handover, Minister Khanal expressed gratitude to India, acknowledging the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized that this assistance would play a key role in ensuring the upcoming elections are both smooth and efficient.

India delivered the first batch of election-related support on January 20, 2026, with more shipments expected in the coming weeks. This ongoing cooperation highlights a strong development partnership and the deep trust shared between the people of Nepal and India.
