Kathmandu, Nepal, September 20, 2025: Nepal Police has formed a task force to assess and evaluate damage to police property during the Gen-Z-led movement and subsequent protests. The task force is formed under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Deepak Regmi.
As the protests called by the Gen G group on September 8 and 9 escalated into violence leaving more than 72 deaths, injuring about three hundred and causing damages of private and public properties.
The Nepal police has already reported that more than 450 police units across the country suffered destruction and arson. Prime Minister’s official residence, the Supreme Court, Singha Durbar, the Federal Parliament, and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and many more governmental buildings have also been damaged in the violent protest.
