Nepali Congress demands to Scrap the vacancies announced by PAC to fulfill the vacant position in the local unites

Kathmandu, Nepal, June 13, 2019: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded to scrap the vacancies announced by the Public Service Commission (PAC) to fulfill the vacant position in the local unites.

The Nepali Congress has stood in favor of scarping vacancy announced for 9,161 civil servants in various positions at 515 various local units in the mean time when the government allies have also divided over the issue.

Though the Parliamentary State Affairs Committee has already directed the government to scrap the vacancy announced by the PAC and some leaders and lawmakers of the government allies have also demanded to do so, the government intends to bulldoze to continue the vacancy announcement. 

Revealing about the party’s stand over the announcement of the PAC, Nepali Congress spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said on Thursday at a press conference organized the party headquarters, Sanepa that these vacancies announced by the Pac are against the spirit of the constitution regarding the issue of inclusiveness. 

However, the Nepali Congress has demanded that the PSC should immediately go for the new process by mentioning the inclusiveness guaranteed by the constitution.
Recruiting the government staffers on contract basis for the local levels is not acceptable for the Nepali Congress; Sharma said hinting to the growing trend of hiring the nearer and dearer of the delectated representatives in the local bodies.
