Kathmandu, Nepal, November 10, 2025: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged people not to have any doubts about the House of Representatives (HoR) elections, which are currently scheduled for March 5, 2026 (21 Falgun, 2082 BS).

Urging the people not to have any doubts about the snap HoR elections, Thapa has clarified through a social media, Facebook, post that the Congress will not only participate in the HoR elections but also work to make them successful.

The Nepali Congress has clearly presented its decision to go for the election at the all-party meeting held in the presence of Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki, and that the decision of the Central Working Committee will also be to go for the election, Thapa states.

There is no confusion in the Nepali Congress’s Central Working Committee meeting about the scheduled Elections, and the new parliament is the only way to bring the constitution on the right path and ensure democratic stability, Thapa has stated.

Holding of the party’s General Convention before the election is needed because it is our stance that only the policies and leadership of the Nepali Congress that emerge from the convention will make us eligible to contest the election effectively, Thapa states in the social media post.
