Kathmandu, Nepal, November 16, 2025: The deadline for voter registration targeting the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections has been extended by five days.
The Election Commission (EC), the constitutional body responsible for holding national elections, announced the five-day extension on Saturday. "We have extended the deadline to ensure no eligible voter is left out," said EC Spokesman Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.
The upcoming snap elections, fixed after the 'Gen G' protest, have generated significant enthusiasm among the young generation. This eagerness is evident not only in casting votes but also in young people filing their candidacies for the scheduled elections.
According to the EC, more than 300,000 new voters have been registered since the campaign began on September 25.
