Kathmandu, Nepal: A parliamentary sub-committee under the Industry Commerce and Consumers Welfare Committee of the Legislature-Parliament has on Thursday directed the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) not to hike the price of petroleum products.

The sub-committee has directed the state oil monopoly on Thursday with the conclusion that the price-hike of the petroleum products contravenes the automatic pricing mechanism introduced by the government recently.

The NOC had increased the price of diesel, petrol and kerosene by 4.50 rupees from December 18.
The parliamentary cub committee has made the direction in the mean time when various organizations have been protesting the decision to hike the price of the petroleum products.
