Kathmandu, Nepal, September 7, 2021: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has underlined the need of collective efforts to combat COVID-19 pandemic and its effects in other sectors.
Inaugurating to the 74th Regional Committee meeting of WHO South-East Asia Region, the annual governing body meeting of WHO in the Region, in Kathmandu, on Monday, Prime Minister Deuba underlined the need of collective efforts of all the South-East Asian nations to combat COVID-19 pandemic and its effects in other sectors.
Combined efforts are needed from the entire international and regional levels to combat the crisis posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Deuba said.
Equitable access to vaccines, medicines, tools and technologies for the sake of humanity is need of the hour, Prime Minister Deuba said expressing his hope that the session would take important decisions on improving the health status of the people in this Region.
Addressing the same function, WHO Regional Director Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh highlighted the effects of COVID-19 pandemic in the region. He also underlined the need of collective efforts to cope the challenge posed by the pandemic.
