Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been elected as the 40th Prime Minister of Nepal.
 
Single candidate for the post of Prime Minister Deuba secured 388 votes out of 558 members of the parliament presented in the meeting. 
 
170 lawmakers represent to the main opposition CPN UML and other fringe opposition parties have voted against of Deuba. There are 593 members out of 602 members of the parliament.  
 
A total of 297 votes were required Deuba to be elected as the new Prime Minister. But he has secured near to two third majorities in the parliament. Only 8 votes are required to the government allies to prove two third majorities in the parliament. 
 
Nepali Congress President Deuba has been elected as the Prime Minister for forth term coinciding to the Nepal saying that river would overturn in 12 years. 
 
Exactly 12 years ago, he was sacked from the post of Prime Minister by then King Gyanendra Shah terming him as unqualified Prime Minister.   
 
Forth time Prime Minister Deuba is regarded as experienced politician. He was the founder Chairman of the Nepal Student Union (NSU) the student wing of the Nepali Congress.
