Special session of the parliament commence to vote of confidence of motion demanded by Prime Minister Oli, Nepal faction decides to abstain from voting

Kathmandu, Nepal, May 10, 2021: dissident lawmakers close to the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction of the ruling CPN-UML has decided not to resign but to abstain from voting in parliament today. 

A meeting of the lawmakers close to the Nepal-led faction of the party held at Singha Durbar on Monday morning made a decision to this effect. 

Special session of the parliament has commenced today at parliament building at New Baneshwor, Kathmandu to vote of confidence to the Prime Minister KP Oli.

The Oli led faction of the ruling UML has already issued a whip in favor of vote of confidence demanded by Prime Minister Oli. 

Likewise, the main opposition party Nepal Congress and the CPN Maoist Center is going to register a no confidence motion against Prime Minister Oli.
