Kathmandu, Nepal, July 4, 2020: Standing Committee meeting of the ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) scheduled for Saturday has been postponed at again for Monday.
The standing committee meeting was postponed after Prime Minister and party chairman KP Sharma Oli denied the bottom line- one-man-one-post- forwarded by the dissident leaders.
Following the widening differences, the ongoing standing committee meeting held on Thursday had postponed the meeting for Saturday.
As the meeting between the chairmen duo Pushpa Kamal Dahala and Oli held on Saturday morning failed to find any amicable solution to patch up the widening differences, the standing committee meeting was postponed for Monday, a member of the Prime Miister Oli’s secretariat said preferring anonymity.
It is said that Prime Minister Oli has been repeatedly making clear even at the meeting of Saturday morning that he will not step down from both the post even challenging to the dissident leaders to take action against him for the reason.
Though the standing committee meeting was postponed for Monday with the aim to find the middle path solution, some dissident leaders have been exerting pressure to continue the meeting for not to hostage the party proceedings.
