Kathmandu, Nepal, June 9, 2023: The Supreme Court (SC), the apex court of the country, has on Friday ordered its administration to register the writ petition against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is the chairman of then CPN Maoist and its senior leader Dr. Baburam Bhattrai.
Responding to a writ filed by Lenin Bista, a single bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai ordered the SC administration to register the writ petition on Friday. Earlier, the Supreme Court administration had rejected Bista’s writ petition saying that it would be decided according to the transitional justice mechanism of the country.
In the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court, Bishta has stated that Dahal and Bhattrai have committed war crimes forcing minors into child soldiers and forcefully expelling them as disqualified combatants.
