Kathmandu, Nepal, August 2, 2023: Koshi province Chief Minister Uddhav Thapa, who was appointed to the position on Tuesday, took the oath of office and secrecy amid a function organized at the Provincial Assembly Office in Biratnagar on Wednesday.
Newly appointed chief minister Thapa expanded his cabinet by thee members. The newly appointed ministers were also administered the oath of office and secrecy at the same function. Province head Parshuram Khapung administered the oath of office and secrecy to the chief minister and ministers amid the same function.
The newly appointed ministers include as former province assembly Speaker Baburam Gautam, Pradeep Kumar Sunuwar and Kamal Prasad Jabegu. Gautam of CPN Maoist Center appointed as the Minister for Economic Affairs, Sunuwar of Nepal Congress as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and CPN Unified Socialist’s Jabegu as the Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister.
