KATHMANDU, NEPAL – December 9, 2025 – U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Dean Richard Thompson today officially launched the new Kathmandu office and latest products of the U.S. technology company Veel app. The event, which underscored the strengthening U.S.-Nepal tech relationship, was unique in that it was livestreamed simultaneously with the Veel team operating from their San Francisco headquarters.
Founded by Nepali-American entrepreneur Dileep Dhakal, Veel operates as a crucial platform that connects content creators with major global brands. The company provides specialized digital tools designed to help American creators and U.S. and other global brands collaborate more effectively, thereby enhancing their profitability and influence in the market. Veel currently employs staff in both the United States and Nepal and has signaled plans for significant future growth and expansion in its operations.
During the launch ceremony, Ambassador Thompson emphasized the strength of U.S.–Nepal tech partnerships, highlighting that U.S. companies like Veel find tremendous opportunities in Nepal. These ventures, he noted, both enhance U.S. business offerings and expand opportunities to make U.S. creators more productive and profitable, while also contributing meaningfully to Nepal’s private sector-led economic growth. Ambassador Thompson concluded by stating, “Combined with U.S. support for building Nepali skills and developing its energy supplies—together we’re unlocking new opportunities for both nations.”
