Kathmandu, Nepal, February 22, 2021: With the reinstatement of the parliament from the Supreme Court (SC) order, some leaders of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have intensified attempts to remain intact the party from the vertical split. 

Some second rung leaders from the rival factions including Vice-Chair Bamdev Gautam have made such an attempt to narrow down the differences between the top leaders of the party. 

The ruling party has already split technically but not legally even though the Election Commission (EC), the constitutional body responsible to deal the issues related to the political parties, is yet to endorse the split officially.      

It is said that some leaders aligned to the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli led faction namely Subash Chandra Nembang and Pradeep Gyanwali have intensified their efforts to save the party from the vertical split.    

Meanwhile, vice- chair Gautam met Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday with the same proposal. It is said that he had urged Dahal to stand for unity within the party.
