Kathmandu, Nepal, January 11, 2022: CPN-UML Vice-Chair Subash Chandra Nembang has hinted that his party would end the obstruction in the Parliament. We are ready to discuss the issue of ongoing deadlock in the parliament, Nembang said on Monday.
Talking to the media persons in his home district Illam on Monday, Nembang, who is also the former Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), said the meeting between Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN UML Chairman KP Oli has raised some hope to end the obstruction in the parliament.
‘Though no tangible attempts were made in the past to run the parliament by addressing the concerned raised by the UML, some hope has been raised after Prime Minister Deuba went to Balkot and met the UML chairperson,’ Nembang said.
During the function, he also claimed that obstruction in the parliament was their compulsion rather than the will. Blocking of the parliament was matter of our compulsion though it is unfortunate to remain the parliament blocked, he said.
In a different note, he also said that the UML would take decision regarding the endorsement of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement from the parliament once the two parties in the incumbent government- the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Maoist Center) - take the decision.
