Kathmandu, Nepal, April 11, 2023: Nepal and Bangladesh are going to hold a secretary-level bilateral energy talks in the second week of May. The bilateral meeting is scheduled to take place in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.
The meeting, which was supposed to take place in March but postponed upon the request of Bangladesh, is expected to take forward the prospect of the cross-border power trade.
Bangladesh is taken as one of the most potential market to sell the surplus electricity of Nepal. It is said that Bangladesh has already given green signal to buy 50 MW of electricity produced by Nepali power plants.
