Kathmandu, Nepal, February 8, 2022: The death of popular Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar has been mourned in Nepal as well. Not only the song lovers but also the people from different walks of life including the president Bidya Devi Bhandari remembered the late Lata Mangeshkar.
President Bhandari has on Sunday recalled the contribution of Lata Mangeshkar to Nepali songs as well. ‘I am saddened by the news of the demise of famous Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar, who has also lent her melodious voice to many Nepalese songs,’ President Bhandari has stated through the tweet message.
‘I would like offer my heartfelt tribute to genius Lata Mangeshkar with extraordinary talent, President Bhandari has stated. Late Lata Mangeshkar has lent her voice to many songs in Nepali films including ‘Maitighar.’
Lata Mangeshkar had died on Sunday at the age of 92 years. She was cremated with state honor. Various Indian leaders including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had paid tributes to the singer.
She was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital on January 8 after she was diagnosed with Covid-19 and pneumonia.
