Kathmandu, Nepal: It is likely that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba would expand his Cabinet today. The leaders of the government allies shave been consulting now to this effect.
It is said that at least 13 ministries will be given to the Nepali Congress. As the Nepali Congress already has the ministries of finance, education, and labor and employment, nine ministers will be included today.
The major government allies, Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Centers have already agreed in principle to the ministries. However, the government allies have yet to reach on the conclusion after holding consultations with the fringe parties.
Though the Nepali Congress and the Maoist Center have already agreed to share the ministerial portfolios, consolations is going on with the Rastriya Janata Party at Prime Minister Deuba’s official residence Baluwatar to this effect today.
According to the source, Nepali Congress will get the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Water Supply and Sanitation and the Ministry of Irrigation.
Likewise, the CPN Maoist Center will get nine ministries including the Ministry of General Administration, the Ministry of Livestock Development, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture Development, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare.
The source has also a claim that Nepali Congress is sending Mohan Basnet, Ram Krishna Yadav, Bal Bahadur KC, Bhimsen Das Pradhan, Kamala Devi Panta, Min Bahadur Bishwokarma, Rajan KC, Dipak Khadka in the cabinet.
Likewise the CPN Maoist Center is sending Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, Shyam Kumar Shrestha, Asha Khanal, Tek Bahadur Basnet, Mahendra Bahadur Sahi, and Shiva Kumar Mandal in the Cabinet.
