Kathmandu, Nepal, February 20, 2022: Following the decision of the government, process is initiated to establish an industrial village in Tatopani Rural Municipality-4 of Jumla district.
An executive committee meeting of the rural municipal has already selected Ratekhola of ward no 4 to develop as industrial village.
Following the recommendation of the rural municipality, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies had on August 26, 2022 issued a public notice for the establishment of the industrial village.
According to the chairperson of the rural municipality, Nanda Prasad Chaulagain the industrial village is to be established with the objective of providing employment to youths and making them self-dependent.
According to him, the industrial village would help create employment, livelihood and poverty alleviation by utilizing local resources. However, most of the local people are neither aware about the proposed industrial village nor optimistic about the benefit of it.
The federal government has set a target to bring an industrial village into operation in every local unit. The government had announced through the budget that industrial village will be operated in every local unit.
However, neither the federal government nor the provincial and local governments have initiated yet the process to bring into implementation the government’s plan.
