Kathmandu, Nepal: notwithstanding the widening differences over the issue of adopting the elections symbol, the newly united Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has adopted Cow as the elections symbol.
As plough as the election symbol of former RPP, some leaders of the party, mostly though who were associated with the former RPP, had been demanding to adopt the plough as the election symbol.
RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development has on Saturday announced Cow as the election symbol of the party.
During the function Thapa had urged the Election Commission (EC) to correct its decision regarding to remove the portion of Hindu state and monarchy from the party statute.
The EC had on Friday removed the portion stating that the portion of Hindu state and monarchy contradicted to the constitutional provisions of republican order and secularism.
