Kathmandu, Nepal, July 13, 2023: The Supreme Court (SC) the apex court of the country on Thursday ordered the Government of Nepal to produce the Secretary of the Government of Nepal Krishna Bahadur Raut, who was arrested in the Lalitanivas land scam case, before the court within 24 hours.
Responding to the writ petition filed by Usha Karki on behalf of the arrested Secretary Raut, the single bench of Supreme Court Judge Til Prasad Shrestha ordered the government to produce the arrested Raut within 24 hours.
Secretary Raut was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on the 24th of June for his alleged involvement in the Lalitaniwas land scam case. In the writ petition, it was claimed that he was illegally arrested and detained.
