Kathmandu, Nepal, October 19, 2021: The government has sacked National Sports Council (NAC) member secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal from the post. A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to this effect.
As cabinet directed the Ministry of Youth and Sports to initiate the process to relieve Silwal from the duty, he was relieved immediately from the ministry level decision.
Erstwhile KP Sharma Oli-led government had decided to appoint Silwal on July 2020 for four-year tenure. Silwal is considered as close confident of Oli.
The government has accused Silwal of failing to show performance in the professional front. Earlier, the ministry had sought clarification from Silwal.
