Kathmandu, Nepal, November 17, 2023: Challenging to the decision of the Nepal government to ban the social site Tik Tok in Nepal, a writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC), the apex court of the country on Friday.
Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi filed the writ petition demanding the annulment of the decision of the Council of Ministers to ban TikTok in Nepal.
The petitioner has argued that the government’s decision to ban the Tik Tok is against the spirit of the constitution, democracy and rights of citizens.
A Cabinet meeting held on November 13 decided to ban the TikTok in Nepal citing disruption to family relations and social harmony.
