Guwahati: A day long workshop on environmental journalism was conducted at Guwahati Press Club on 27 May 2017, where 25 participants interacted with the resource persons.
Organized by Aranya Suraksha Samiti in association of Electronic Media Forum Assam, the workshop for the practicing journalists was graced by former forest official Bhupen Talukdar, senior journalists Pranay Bordoloi & Nava
Thakuria.
Addressing the workshop, Haricharan Das, secretary general of Aranya Suraksha Samiti disclosed that they would soon confer an award to a young journalist with an aim to encourage reporting on environmental issues.
He believed that the award would encourage young journalists to report factually and help protecting the nature & environment. The Samiti will also organize similar workshops in various part of Assam in the coming days.
