Guwahati, July 23 : Assam Rifles troops had apprehended an arms dealer and recovered arms and ammunition in Nagaland.
According to the reports, based on specific information Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) launched a search operation in general area Iron Bridge (Phelungre) and established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post near DC ground in Kiphire district on Sunday.
During conduct of spot vehicle check, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a blue colour Alto Car bearing registration No WB 06 H-0161 and apprehended an arms dealer identified as Vitoka Sumi, a resident of village Thazuvi in Kiphire district alongwith one point 32mm pistol, a magazine and three live rounds.
The apprehendee alongwith recovered items were handed over to Kiphire Police Station for further investigation.
