Kathmandu, Nepal, September 27, 2025: Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Nepal, Veronique Lorenzo has extended her congratulations to the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kul Man Ghising on behalf of the European Union on Friday.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation in Singha Durbar, Ambassador Veronique Lorenzo also wished him a successful tenure as minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development.
According to a press statement of the Minister Ghising, discussions were held on ranges of issues including the issues related to the development of transformational reservoir hydropower projects, green energy, energy security and efficiency. Discussions were also held on additional assistance in other sectors including energy.
Expressing gratitude for the assistance provided by the EU for Nepal's development, minister Ghising also urged the EU to provide additional assistance for improving the transmission and distribution system.
Responding to the urge made by the minister Ghising, ambassador Lorenzo stated that the EU was always ready to provide further assistance and cooperation in Nepal's energy sector.
