Kathmandu, Nepal Acting Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli has been sworn in as the Chief Justice amid a special programme organised at the office of the President in Sheetal Niwas on Monday,.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to CJ Parajuli.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Speaker Onsari Gharti, chiefs of constitutional bodies, judges of the Supreme Court and Chief Secretary, Rajendra Kishor Chhetri, among others, were present on the occasion.
Earlier on Sunday Parliamenary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) of the Legislature-Parliament unanimously approved the name of Parajuli for the post of Chief Justice.
