Kathmandu, Nepal, September 2, 2025: An earthquake struck Gorkha district at 6:15 am on Tuesday. 
 
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale was at Hansapur of Ajirkot Rural Municipality-3 of Gorkha district.
 
Nepal has felt jolts of earthquake time and again after devastating Gorkha earthquake in 2015. 
 
Earlier on August 17, an earthquake of 4 on the Richter scale had occurred with its epicenter in Helamcho area of Ramechhap district. 
 
Experts have been stating that the Himalayan region of the country is considered a seismically active zone.
