Kathmandu, Nepal, February 20, 2021: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has accused the Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota of acting as of the opposition of the government.

Prime Minister Oli said so while addressing a mass gathering organized by his faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Biratnagar on Saturday. Vice President Pun and Speaker Sapkota have failed to act in line with the duties assigned to them by the constitution, Prime Minister Oli said during the function.

As Vice President Pun and Speaker Sapkota favored the dissenting faction of the ruling NCP led by Dahal and Nepal, Prime Minister Oli expressed strong dissatisfaction over the role of the vice-president Pun and the speaker Sapkota.

Following the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), the ruling NCP has vertically split though the split is yet too endorsed by the Election Commission (EC). Likewise, leaders of the party including Vice President Nanda Pun and Speaker Sapkota have aligned in the separate factions- one is led by Prime Minister Oli and another by Dahal and Nepal.
