Biratnagar, Nepal: At least two persons were killed and about half dozen others injured when a pickup truck met with the accident at Simledanda of Chhintang-8 of Dhankuta district on Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as Prithivi Man Rai of Bhojpur district and Sushila Shrestha of Dharan-1 in Sunsari. Rai was a school teacher.
The ill-fated mini truck with registration number Ko 1 Ja 2722, which was heading towards Bhojpur from Dharan, skidded off the road and plunged around 70 meters down on the gorge. Break failure is attributed to the incident.
