Kathmandu, Nepal, March 7, 2021: Winter session of the House of Representatives (HoR) is going to begin at 4:00 pm today at parliamentary building, New Baneshowr, Kathmandu.
Since this is the first meeting of the reinstated HoR after the vertical split in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), it is taken importantly from different sectors.
The Supreme Court (SC) had on February 23 reinstated the HoR passing the verdict that the government’s decision to dissolve the parliament was against of the constitutional provision.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari had dissolved the HoR on December 20 upon the recommendation of the government at the same day. As the dissident faction of the ruling NCP tried to register a vote of no-confidence against PM Oli he had recommended the president to dissolve the HoR.
It is said that the Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling NCP would register a vote of no-confidence against PM Oli today. However, the faction has not revealed yet officially over the decision.
