Assam govt suspended 116 teachers

Guwahati, August 23 : Assam government had suspended 116 teachers after they were caught by adopting unfair means while sitting in the BEd, DEl.Ed examination conducted by the Krishnakanta Handique State Open University.

Assam Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said that, after receiving the name of the teachers, who were rusticated from the examination halls after they were caught while adopting unfair means.

'Among the suspended teachers, 93 are regular teachers under Directorate of Elementary education, 22 are contractual teachers under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) and 1 under BTC sixth scheduled area,'Â Sarma said.

The Assam Education minister said that, the departmental inquiry also being initiated against the teachers.
