NEPSE gains 0.94 percent to close at 1,906 points

Kathmandu, Nepal, March 27, 2023: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has gained by 17.70 points, which is 0.94 percent, and closed at 1,906 points from the last trading day's closing on Monday. The NEPSE index had lost by 26.87 points in the first trading day of the week, on Sunday. 

The NEPSE index opened at 1,885.7 points made just intraday high at 1906.61 points and intraday low at 1,865.75 points before closing at 1,906 points.

A total of 4,308,645 shares of 261 scrips traded hands were exchanged amounting to Rs. 1.38 Arba in turnover amount via 36,980 transactions. Monday’s transaction amount is higher than Sunday’s turnover of Rs. 1.289 Arba.
 
Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 5.90 crores and closed at a market price of Rs. 1900 per share while the shares of Global IME Bank Limited Promoter Share (GBIMEP) traded the most. 

Likewise, Supermai Hydropower Limited (SMH) gained the highest by 10 percent followed by Asian Hydropower Limited (AHL) and Kalinchwok Darshan Limited (KDL) with 9.99 percent while the National Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited ( NMFBS ) lost the most by 10 percent. 

As the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) denied to approve even the second amended dividend proposal of 34.45 percent and reduced to 15 percent for the Fiscal Year 2078/79, the shares of NMFBS declined massively. 

Among the 13 sector indices, all sector indices closed green Except Microfinance Index. The Manufacturing and processing sector indices gained the highest 2.35 percent.
