Kathmandu, Nepal, November 3, 2025: President Ramchandra Paudel has departed for Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Monday morning to participate in the 'Second World Summit for Social Development.'
Leading the Nepali delegation, President Paudel is going to attend the conference. President Paudel was invited by the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The conference is scheduled to be held from Kartik 18 to 20 (November 4 to 6).
Vice-President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Home Minister Omprakash Aryal, the Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, and other high-ranking government officials, including the heads of security agencies, were present to bid farewell to President Paudel at Tribhuvan International Airport.
On the occasion, a contingent of the Nepali Army also presented a salute to President Paudel.
President Paudel is scheduled to address the main session of the 'Second World Summit for Social Development' in Doha on November 4. During the conference, the President will hold meetings with dignitaries, including the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres.
The conference is going to be held with a plan to discuss a range of issues that the world is currently facing, including development inequality, population imbalance, and the impact of technology on society.
A similar conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1995.
Nepal has remained an active member for global peace and stability since it became a member of the United Nations in 1955. Currently, Nepal is also the President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
President Paudel is scheduled to return home on Kartik 20 (November 6) after completing his official visit to Qatar.
